Chief Strategy OfficerWaltero IoT Platform: Q1 2026 Release Highlights
The Q1 2026 release of the Waltero IoT Platform (Mimir) introduces major updates across Vision AI, field operations, partner enablement, security, and user experience. Together, these improvements mark an important step forward in how partners can monitor assets, interpret site conditions, and manage operations at scale.
Introducing Vision AI Monitoring
The headline update in this release is our new pluggable AI framework, which brings Vision AI monitoring into Mimir. With support for use-case-specific models and lightweight training workflows, Waltero makes it faster to deploy camera-based monitoring for remote assets and critical processes.
Rather than only capturing data or sending generic alerts, the platform can now help interpret what a sensor sees in context. This opens up new possibilities for earlier issue detection, smarter follow-up, and more proactive maintenance across a wide range of environments.
1. Vision AI: Faster Deployment, Greater Flexibility
Pluggable AI Framework
Mimir now includes a modular AI framework that allows machine learning models to be deployed for specific operational needs. This makes it easier to move from concept to production with a flexible architecture designed for real-world monitoring.Rapid Vision AI Rollout
Vision AI workflows can now be configured using lightweight training data, making it possible to get new monitoring use cases up and running faster than with traditional model development approaches. This lowers the barrier to deploying AI for scenarios such as equipment checks, visual inspections, and site monitoring.Model Activity Tracking
The platform now provides full visibility into AI model activity through invocation history and monitoring logs. This gives teams better tools for validation, tuning, and ongoing performance review.
2. Asset Management and Field Operations
Improved Map-Based Management
The map view now supports address search, direct GPS coordinate editing, cluster visualization, and scroll-to-zoom. These updates make it easier to manage large device fleets and navigate installations across multiple regions.On-Demand Site Verification
Users can now request fresh sensor photos directly from the device detail page, making it easier to verify current site conditions remotely.Device Photo History
A new carousel-style image viewer makes it easy to browse installation records and compare site photos over time.Field Uploads from Technicians
Technicians can now upload installation photos directly to device records while on-site, helping teams maintain more accurate and complete documentation.
3. Governance, Security, and Partner Enablement
Partner Resource Hub
Mimir now includes an integrated document management system that gives partners permission-controlled access to technical documentation, operational guides, and marketing materials.Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
A complete RBAC system is now live, including hierarchical role management to support clearer access governance across teams and partner organizations.Improved Privacy Workflows
We have streamlined how users access and manage consent-related records, including more intuitive support for data privacy workflows such as right-to-erasure requests.Expanded Audit Logging
New audit logs provide administrators with improved visibility into platform activity, including email verification events and login history.
4. User Experience and Global Reach
Expanded Language Support
In addition to English, French, German, and Spanish, Mimir now supports Portuguese, Albanian, Turkish, and Finnish.Built-In User Guidance
A new slide-out help panel and embedded user manual provide context-sensitive support directly within the platform.One-Click Data Export
Table views can now be exported directly to CSV or Excel for reporting and further analysis.Modernized Interface
The platform now includes Dark Mode support and an improved mobile-responsive layout for a more consistent experience across desktop and field use.
5. Platform Reliability and Security Hardening
Infrastructure and Security Improvements
Backend updates in this release include Let’s Encrypt TLS integration, Caddy optimization, and firmware encryption to further strengthen platform security and data protection.Observability and Test Coverage
Expanded observability instrumentation, together with a suite of more than 1,500 automated tests, improves platform reliability and supports more robust release validation.
Supporting More Proactive Operations
This release expands what teams can do with Waltero — from managing devices and installation records more efficiently to deploying Vision AI workflows that support faster detection and smarter action in the field.
By combining flexible sensing, stronger platform controls, and new AI capabilities, Mimir continues to evolve into a more powerful tool for monitoring and protecting critical infrastructure.
